Cooking Instructions
10 steps
Marinate mutton with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and salt for 2 hours
Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan, add whole spices (cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves, mace)
Add sliced onions and fry until golden brown, remove half for garnish
Add marinated mutton and cook on high heat for 10 minutes
Add cashew paste, almond paste, and poppy seeds paste. Mix well
Add white pepper powder and nutmeg powder
Add water and cook covered on low heat for 45-50 minutes until mutton is tender
Add fresh cream and saffron strands soaked in milk
Simmer for 5 minutes until gravy thickens
Garnish with fried onions and serve hot with naan or pulao
