10 steps
Soak kidney beans overnight in plenty of water.
Pressure cook soaked rajma with water and salt for 5-6 whistles until very soft.
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and bay leaf.
Add chopped onions and cook until deep golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sauté for 2 minutes.
Add tomato puree and cook for 10 minutes until oil separates.
Add all spice powders and cook for 2 minutes.
Add cooked rajma with its cooking liquid. Mix well.
Simmer for 20 minutes, mashing some beans to thicken the gravy.
Add garam masala, garnish with coriander and serve with rice.
